Discover Fun for the KeikiKaua‘i

Let’s face it—KIDS can only build so many sand castles before they start running off to new adventures. Keep an eye on your keiki—or take time off from your watch—with one of several island outlets ranging from exploration of an operational cattle ranch to movie time by the pool.

KIDS’ ADVENTURE CENTER AT PRINCEVILLE RANCH: If you’re driving your kids up the wall with your desire to just kick back and read a book, drop them off at PRINCEVILLE RANCH for their own adrenalineand fun-filled time. This beautiful North Shore ranch has a five-hour tour for kids involving everything from PONY RIDES to BUG COLLECTING to HAWAIIAN STORY TIME.

The only requirements are that your keiki are between 4 years, 8 months to 11 years old, and you bring them dressed to have a slightly messy good time. Call (808) 826-7669 for more information or reservations.

CLASSES AT NA KEIKI O KA ‘AINA: Kids can immerse themselves in Polynesian culture at The Children of the Land, Na Keiki o Ka ‘Aina. THE POLYNESIAN CULTURE CENTER, located at Kaua‘i Village Shopping Center (next to Papayas) offers KEIKI HULA classes on Tuesdays and KEIKI TAHITIAN DRUMMING classes (ages 5 and up) on Wednesdays. For more information, call (808) 821-1234 or go to www.thechildrenoftheland.com.

MOVIE NIGHT BY THE POOL: Sunset on Kaua‘i is a magical time of day, when the moon starts to appear over the ocean and the stars come out to twinkle through the limited lights of the small island. What does this mean? Movie time.

Every Thursday night at sunset, THE POINT AT PO‘IPU sets up a large screen by the pool and shows a family movie for visitors looking to unwind outdoors but stay entertained. Just pack a towel or blanket, a few snacks, and show up for a few hours of family relaxation. Call the resort at (808) 742-1888 for more information.
