Discover Kaua’i on HorsebackKaua‘i
There are lots of ways to see Kaua‘i’s beautiful landscapes. However, one of the best is on horseback—and two island ranches offer exactly that.
At SILVER FALLS RANCH, located near KILAUEA, opt for the Silver Falls Ride, where small groups enjoy a GUIDED TRAIL RIDE through the gorgeous Kalihiwai interior and along Kamo‘okoa Ridge on Kaua‘i’s North Shore. After about two hours on horseback, riders take a break for a picnic and swim in a natural mountain pool (no hiking necessary). Another option, the Tropical Trail Adventure, combines a ride through Silver Falls’ botanical palm garden with the swim and picnic at the waterfall.
Guests at PRINCEVILLE RANCH, one of Hawai‘i’s first cattle ranches established during the reign of King Kamehameha III, have their pick of several rides, including one that crosses the open pastures of this working cattle operation to its final destination at an 80-foot waterfall. Princeville Ranch even has combination rides that take those adventurous enough on hikes through a rainforest and ziplining!
Both ranches are well suited to first-timers all the way up through advanced riders. Private rides are available as well.
