It may not be Las Vegas, but visitors who want to be well entertained will revel in the choices found in Waikiki's showrooms. Like Elvis? We have you covered. Looking for magic? No problem.
The newest show in town is Cirque Hawaii Theatre's Cirque du Soleil-inspired circus showcasing an exotic blend of strength, balance, humor, beauty and grace. The theater is located on Seaside Avenue in Waikiki.
At the Waikiki Beachcomber Hotel, Merlin-award-winning magician John Hirokawa stars in the "Magic of Polynesia" and Hirokawa's "Magic Of Polynesia" is a showy stage spectacular that transforms Hawaiian legends with mystifying illusions and special effects. Dinner and cocktail shows are staged nightly.
Also at the Waikiki Beachcomber, Jonathon Von Brana continues a long run as Elvis in "Blue Hawaii, The Show." Von Brana bears a distinct likeness to The King...and sings like him too.
At the Outrigger Waikiki hotel, the Society of Seven, an all-male lineup of musicians with an outrageous sense of humor, has been drawing crowds for more than 30 years. This Las Vegas-style show is just a tad risqué, high energy, nostalgic, funny and totally entertaining. See the show at 8:30 p.m. every night except Monday.
