Revisit a Classic MusicalKaua‘i

Kaua‘i’s version of “SOUTH PACIFIC” is a LIVE DINNER THEATER PRODUCTION at the KAUA‘I BEACH RESORT. The Wednesday-evening performance is staged in the hotel’s main ballroom, where the audience can expect to hear classic hits like “Some Enchanted Evening” and “Bali Hai.”

The show is a nod to the original ’50s hit musical that is considered one of the greatest to ever grace Broadway. The storyline follows an American nurse at a U.S. Naval base on a South Pacific island during World War II who falls in love with an ex-patriot French farmer with a mysterious past.

In 1958, director Josh Logan also chose Kaua‘i as the principal location for the film version of the long-running play. The island’s stunning photogenic image received a huge boost as national publications scrambled to publicize the movie, putting Kaua‘i on the map as a major film location.

As for the local Kaua‘i production, doors open at 5:30 p.m., followed by a buffet dinner; the show kicks off at 6:45 p.m.
