Big IslandFood, Fun & After Dark

One of the best ways to get acquainted with a new location is through its food, and Hawai‘i’s unique, multiethnic culinary scene is a perfect reflection of the melting pot of cultures that call the Hawaiian Islands home.

A little over two decades ago, a group of island chefs developed HAWAI‘I REGIONAL CUISINE . It incorporated local ingredients and showcased various ethnic cooking styles. Three of those founding chefs have restaurants on Hawai‘i Island: Peter Merriman ( MERRIMAN’S IN WAIMEA ), Roy Yamaguchi ( ROY’S IN WAIKOLOA ) and Sam Choy ( SAM CHOY’S KAI LANAI IN KONA ). At Sam Choy’s Kai Lanai, a stunning 230-degree view of the Pacific stretches out in a beautiful blue oasis before you. The Short Bait bar is the perfect place to meet friends for pūpū (appetizers). The superb service, spectacular views and warm aloha welcome will make this a top dining choice in Kona. PANCHO AND LEFTY’S CANTINA & RESTAURANTE 808-326-2171
