You may be familiar with stand-up paddling, or SUP — a watersport developed by the legendary Waikīkī Beach Boys. Maybe you’ve wanted to try or maybe you’re a seasoned paddler. Either way, LIGHTSUP HAWAI‘I (lightsuphawaii.com) provides a unique way for you to experience the thrill of not only standing on water, but also seeing what’s going on below the surface. As its name suggests, the company’s special boards light up and there’s a viewing window in each board to watch the ocean life below. Choose from the Morning Tour or Sunset Tour. Private tours and rentals are also available.
Not familiar with SUP? Don’t worry, there’s proper instruction, however, guests are welcome to kneel if they prefer.
Guides share their passion for the ocean on each tour and $8 for each guest is donated to ocean conservation nonprofits.
