Tucked away in Kīlauea, you’ll find a 30-acre oasis filled with fun for the entire family. ANAINA HOU COMMUNITY PARK is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit with a campus that offers entertainment, recreation, educational programs and services for visitors and kama‘āina . Keiki will love the adventures they’ll have at the playground. Open 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays, it features engaging structures that illustrate Hawaiian history. Kids will love climbing replicas of a volcano, sailing canoe and sugarcane train.
Challenge each other with the mini golf course that’s open 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Thursdays-Sundays. Surrounded by a Hawaiian botanical garden, this 18-hole course features tropical flora, water hazards and other fun obstacles. The par-47 course is also ADA accessible.
If you’re looking for some island entertainment, look no further than the ‘ĀHI LELE FIRE SHOW that takes audiences through Hawaiian history and culture through dance and music. It’s 6 p.m. every Wednesday and Friday.
Find fresh produce, flowers and more at the farmers market that’s 9:30 a.m.-noon on Saturdays. Special hours for kūpuna (seniors) and mothers with infants are 9-9:30 a.m.
