Ride the Sugar Train

A Little Bit of HistoryKauai

This land tour draws its inspiration from Kaua‘i’s colorful sugar era when trains carried sugarcane to the mills. Today, KAUA‘I PLANTATION RAILWAY takes passengers on a 2.5-mile narrated tour around the plantation.

Board the authentic narrow gauge railroad that chugs through 105 acres of transformed sugar fields, which showcase a beautiful agricultural farm. During the 40-minute Signature Train Ride, your conductor will point out working fields of taro, pineapple, banana, papaya and 25 difirent varieties of tropical fruits. There is even a stop during the tour to feed the friendly goats, pigs and sheep.

The railway is located at KILOHANA PLANTATION in Līhu‘e off Highway 50 between Kukui Grove Center and the Kaua‘i Community College. KAUA‘I PLANTATION RAILWAY 808-245-7245
