LYDGATE BEACH PARK consists of a wide sand beach that slopes into the ocean, where a pair of rock-rimmed pools — one perfect for young children and toddlers, the other good for swimming and snorkeling — beckon. The walled pools provide a barrier from high surf and dangerous currents. There also is a bevy of colorful reef fish easily viewable with a snorkel mask.
Lydgate is well maintained, and has quintessential park necessities: lifeguards, restrooms, a playground, walking path, covered pavilions for picnics and ample parking.
