Traveling with the tykes doesn’t have to be a burden! In fact, O‘ahu has many activities that are FUN FOR THE ENTIRE FAMILY. Grab the keiki (kids), and explore some of these parent- approved attractions.

With a name like Wet ‘n’ Wild Hawaii, you know you’re in for a lot of fun. This waterpark, located in Kapolei, is O‘ahu’s top 10 most visited family attraction. It’s chock- full of fun: you’ll find 25 splashy attractions within its 29 acres. Choose your thrill (or chill): the Kapolei Kooler is a lazy river that’s perfect for those who just want to relax; if craving some excitement (but not too much!) try riding a small swell at the Hawaiian Water Wave Pool; and if you’re into extreme water fun, head to the Volcano Express- these 240-foot racing slides are four stories high and nestled along natural cliffs.

Enjoy some recreational fishing at ALI’I AGRICULTURE FARMS in Central O‘ahu. The fully stocked ponds contain catfish, tilapia, prawns and more. An on-site food truck cleans and cooks up your catch.

If dry is your style, ATLANTIS ADVENTURES operates O‘ahu’s POPULAR SUBMARINE ADVENTURES. Watch your child’s eyes light up as they hunt for “Nemo” (or “Dory”!) on an underwater journey to ATLANTIS REEF to two sunken ships, wrecked airplanes and a reef bursting with colorful sea critters! Mom and Dad will be pleased to sit in the air-conditioned comfort of the world’s largest submarine fleet: a spacious, 64-seat, 100-foot-plus sub. Visit atlantisadventures.com.

CLIMB WORKS KEANA FARMS on the North Shore offers an educational zipline tour over a breathtaking farm to appease all travelers! O‘ahu’s first zipline tour offers a dynamic voyage for the whole family. Visit climbworks.com.

A few miles down the road, you’ll find KUALOA, a 4,000-acre working cattle ranch rich in history. Kualoa offers many FAMILY-FRIENDLY TOURS, such as the JUNGLE JEEP EXPEDITION through the jungle trails, horseback rides, ATV rides and its popular HOLLYWOOD MOVIE SITES TOUR. Visit kualoa.com. Founded in 1963, POLYNESIAN CULTURAL CENTER celebrates Hawai‘i’s diverse Polynesian background with award-winning performances and interactive attractions. Visit polynesia.com.

Named “One of the Top Ten Aviation Attractions” by TripAdvisor, PEARL HARBOR AVIATION MUSEUM grants knowledge-seeking families the opportunity to see vintage warplanes and displays dedicated to the role of combat airplanes in the Pacific during WWII. Fun events, such as the museum’s OPEN COCKPIT DAYS, will have your family soaring! Visit pacificaviationmuseum.org.

Visiting PEARL HARBOR also offers families the opportunity to visit historical sites such as the USS MISSOURI AND USS ARIZONA MEMORIAL. The Missouri offers guided and self-guided tours. Visit pacifichistoricparks.org.

Since opening in 1964, SEA LIFE PARK has entertained millions of families with lively marine shows and vivid exhibits. The park recently opened its 3D SEA INTERACTIVE SEA LIFE EXPERIENCE attraction, remodeled DOLPHIN COVE and the STORM WATER EDUCATION DISPLAY. Visit sealifeparkhawaii.com.

But, if Mom and Dad would like to venture out alone-and not feel badly about leaving the kids behind- KAMA’AINA KIDS is a non-profit organization providing kids’ camps, education and enrichment programs, as well as child care. Visit kamaainakids.com.
