• ALOHA FESTIVALS: Aloha Festivals is the largest Hawaiian cultural celebration in the United States. Founded in 1946, there are two not-to-be-missed signature events on O‘ahu: the 67th annual Waikiki Ho‘olaule‘a, Hawai‘i’s largest block party is slated for 6-9:30 p.m. Sept. 21 along Kalakaua Avenue, find lots of food and entertainment; and the 73rd annual Floral Parade makes its way down Kalakaua Avenue from Ala Moana Beach Park to Kapi‘olani Park 9 a.m.-12 p.m. on Sept. 28. alohafestivals.com
• HAWAI‘I FOOD & WINE FESTIVAL: This annual event featuring celebrity chefs celebrating Hawai‘i’s bounty is in its ninth year and it continues to grow in popularity. • HONOLULU CITY LIGHTS: The Frank F. Fasi Civic Center Grounds lights up for the holiday season with this annual attraction that features dazzling light displays and family-friendly activities. It kicks off with the Public Workers’ Electric Light Parade along King Street on Dec. 7.
