Visit one of the most iconic locations in Pāhoa where Kīlauea Volcano erupted and left a remnant known as Fissure 8, or Ahu ‘Ailā‘au, which means “House of the Forest Eater.”

FISSURE 8 VIEWING AREA offers two-hour tours at the site and details the entire 2018 eruption flow from an eye-witness perspective. The hike ends at the top of Ahu ‘Ailā‘au, where participants are presented with a 360-degree view of the southside of Hawai‘i Island.
